Two-page spread for a children’s book based on Camille Saint-Saëns’ Le Carnaval des animaux
Editorial piece for a story about feminism and suffragettes. I feel very uncomfortable when the word “oppression” is tossed around in regards to Western women—it doesn’t seem very accurate in the face of the injustices seen in the east. Western women do face particular struggles and challenges, but to me it seems that we are very much involved in our own sabotage. It is especially common for a woman to expect herself and all others of her sex to fulfill an outrageous number of often mutually destructive roles. This is the subject of my piece.
